The Recce 16 was designed with 3 governing principles: reliability, accuracy, and weight reduction. We start by lapping the mil-spec, forged M4 upper receiver to ensure a perfectly flush mating of the barrel and receiver. The barrel is a 16” hybrid-profile barrel - a government profile and pencil profile - reducing weight from the muzzle while maintaining stability when running hot. The adjustable, mid-length, gas piston is ideal for reliability and smooth operation, greatly reducing carbon fouling in the chamber as no gasses are blown into the chamber. The bolt carrier group is completed with Nickel Boron coated parts (bolt, cam pin, and firing pin) for low friction and easy cleaning. A 12” free-floated, lightweight MLOK handguard from Midwest Industries comes standard on the Recce 16.

Piston Operation:
